Breaking News: Skeletal Remains Identified as Missing Minneapolis Man
Bolingbrook, IL – A significant breakthrough has been made in the search for David A. McCord, a 36-year-old Minneapolis resident who went missing in July 2024. The Will County Coroner’s Office has confirmed that skeletal bones discovered in Hidden Lakes
Park on December 14, 2024, belong to McCord.
According to authorities, a citizen stumbled upon the remains while searching for deer antlers in the woods and immediately notified the Bolingbrook Police Department. An investigation ensued, involving detectives, crime scene personnel, and uniformed officers.
Personal belongings, including McCord’s identification, were found at the scene. Further analysis was conducted by Dr. Cris Hughes, a forensic anthropologist at the University of Illinois, who confirmed the remains were human.
A collaborative effort between the Bolingbrook Police Department, Minneapolis Police Investigators, and Independent Forensics, a forensic laboratory in Lombard, Illinois, led to the positive identification of McCord’s remains through advanced DNA testing.
In a related development, investigators are currently examining a human skull discovered in the same location in October 2024 to determine if it is connected to McCord’s case.
The investigation is ongoing, with authorities working to reconstruct the events surrounding McCord’s disappearance and death.
