
Durham Community Mourns Sudden Passing of Travis Alexander Hopkins
Durham, ON – Travis Alexander Hopkins, a 36-year-old resident of Durham, passed away suddenly on Saturday, January 4th, 2025. Travis is survived by his parents, Zok and Anne Hopkins, as well as his aunt, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Travis was an avid member of the fishing community and will be deeply missed by those who knew him. Friends and family have taken to social media to pay tribute to Travis, remembering his big smile, infectious laugh, and kind heart.
A celebration of Travis’ life will be held at the Durham Legion on Saturday, January 18th from 1-4 p.m. A private interment of his cremated remains will take place in the spring at the Durham Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the South Grey Hunters Association would be appreciated. Arrangements have been entrusted to the McCulloch-Watson Funeral Home in Durham.
The community is still reeling from the sudden loss of Travis, with many remembering his presence at fishing derbies and his kind spirit. As one friend wrote, “Fishing derby’s will never be the same without you.”
