
Montgomery Records First Homicide of the Year: 24-Year-Old Man Fatally Shot
A tragic shooting incident occurred on Tuesday afternoon in Montgomery, resulting in the city’s first homicide of the year. The victim, 24-year-old Rodriquez Harris Jr., was fatally shot near the Chevron gas station on Zelda Road around 12:30 p.m.
A massive law enforcement response ensued, with dozens of officers arriving at the scene in ground and air units. The area surrounding the 2600 block of Zelda Road was cordoned off with crime scene tape, and traffic was temporarily halted heading toward Ann Street at Gatsby Drive. The road has since been reopened.
