
Double Homicide in Armstrong County: Suspect in Custody After Deadly Shooting
A tragic shooting incident occurred in Armstrong County, Pennsylvania, on Wednesday morning, resulting in the deaths of two individuals. A suspect, identified as 56-year-old Scott Shaffer, is currently in custody and has confessed to the crime.
According to a criminal complaint, Kittanning police responded to a report of a shooting in the 100 block of Shaffer Lane in Washington Township around 2:40 a.m. The investigation revealed that the shooter and the two victims, aged 27 and 32, had been at Ruby’s Den Burger & Spirits Bar and Grill prior to the incident.
Shaffer allegedly invited the victims to his home, arriving before them and retrieving a rifle. He instructed his 18-year-old daughter, who was present at the residence, to remain in her room. Later that morning, Shaffer shot both victims and asked his daughter to hide the weapon. However, she instead contacted 911 to report the incident.
Shaffer was taken into custody and admitted to police that he had shot the victims. The investigation is ongoing, and Shaffer faces charges related to the double homicide.
