
16-Year-Old Kharrel Allen Fatally Shot in Lynchburg, Virginia; Investigation Ongoing
Lynchburg, VA – A tragic shooting incident has claimed the life of 16-year-old Kharrel Allen, leaving the community in shock and mourning. The shooting occurred on Thursday, January 9, at approximately 3:40 p.m. on Hillcrest Avenue, according to the Lynchburg Police Department (LPD).
Allen was rushed to Lynchburg General Hospital with a gunshot wound, where he succumbed to his injuries the following day. The LPD has characterized the shooting as an isolated incident, suggesting it involved known individuals.
An individual linked to the incident is currently in custody on unrelated charges. The investigation is ongoing, and it remains unclear if this person will face charges directly related to Allen’s death.
